Assessing a task difficulty level:
M: “It’s easy/hard. Like, I can do it but I’ll actually have to think.”
Assessing a task difficulty level:
M: “It’s easy/hard. Like, I can do it but I’ll actually have to think.”
A: “hey Jess. Do you know what? Today you kind of smell like noodles…or maybe I’m just hungry.”
(This happened + my hello fresh recipe was actual noodle soup + the FRIENDS re-reun was the ‘mmm, noodle soup’ episode. It’s the little things)
Overheard:
“It cost 5 grand!!”
“I can give you, like, 4 dollars.”
Choosing paper:
“Pink is NOT a girl’s colour. There is no boy or girl colour, right Jessica?”
Going home from an excursion in an older bus. Some of the kids were concerned there were no seat belts. I reassured the group sitting near me that when I was young, we never had seat belts in buses and as long as we were sitting safely I’m sure we’d be fine. One of the boys trying to explain to someone who hadn’t heard me, calling out for clarification…
“Hey Jessica, tell us the story of when you were a little girl and your bus had no seat belts…”
Spelling test:
Me: “their.”
Gr2: “Which one?”
Me, uses it in a sentence.
Gr2: “yeah, but, is it the one with the ‘i’?”
Today as he was trying to articulate his problem solving strategies:
B: “I didn’t know it, then I thinked it in my head, then I knew it!”
After the swimming lesson, telling a girl no, she was not allowed to leave the swimming pool change room until she took her pants back off and put her underwear on.
What could you do that would take about an hour?…
I will also accept “shopping” and “trying on shoes”
End of sustained reading…
H – “Jessica! (excitedly waves finger in my face) I got a paper cut. Look!”
(looks back at finger) “Whoa – reading can be dangerous!”
(walking away, under breath) “It’s so worth it though.”
